Recent immigrants tend to eat food similar to that of their country of origin, and Americanized versions of these cultural foods, such as American Chinese cuisine or Italian-American cuisine often eventually appear. The primary, although not official, language of the United States is American English. According to the 20xx U.S. Census, more than 97% of Americans can speak English well, and for 81% it is the only language spoken at home. Nearly 30 million native speakers of Spanish also reside in the US. There are more than 300 languages besides English which can claim native speakers in the United States—some of which are spoken by the indigenous peoples (about 150 living languages) and others which were imported by immigrants. American Sign Language, used mainly by the deaf, is also native to the country. Hawaiian is also a language native to the United States, as it is indigenous nowhere else except in the state of Hawaii. Spanish is the second most common language in the United States, and is one of the official languages, and the most widely spoken, in the U.S. Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
There are four major regional dialects in the United States: northeastern, south, inland north, and midwestern. The Midwestern accent (considered the "standard accent" in the United States, and analogous in some respects to the received pronunciation elsewhere in the English-speaking world) extends from what were once the "Middle Colonies" across the Midwest to the Pacific states.

My Imaginary Trip Around the World
If someone offered to pay all my expenses for a month＇s holiday anywhere in the world, I would feel very surprised and excited. It would be difficult to decide where I wanted to go. Should I go to one place or lots of different places? If I went to one country, I could see and understand a lot about it. If I went to lots of countries, my holiday would be more interesting and more exciting. I think I would decide to fly around the world and to visit three different countries. The countries I would visit would be Australia, the United States of America and Kenya.
If I went to Australia, I would stay there for about two weeks. I am sure it would be very interesting to visit a country which is so different from my own. Before I went there, I would write one of my Australian friends. I would suggest that if it were possible, he should spend a week with me visiting Aboriginal tribes① in the northern part of Australia. I would really like to find out how the Aboriginal people live in Australia today. My friend could explain what we saw and he could translate what people said because he majored② in Aboriginal studies at Queens land University. While I was visiting Australia, I hope I could also see some of the large cities, such as Sydney and Melborne.
If I went to the United States I would stay there about a week. I expect I would start by visiting New York. I have heard that New York is a very exciting city. I imagine that there are lots of interesting things tourists like very much, that the buildings are greatly out of the ordinary and that the food is very varied③. After I had stayed two or three days in New York, I would fly to San Francisco. I hope I could stay with my relations who live there and I would visit the city and other parts of California.
Finally, I would fly to Kenya where I would stay for about a week. There are three things I would like to do in Kenya. First, I hope I could visit the coast because I would like to see the old Arab cities and enjoy the beautiful beaches. Next, I would like to visit a Game Reserve④. I imagine the wild animals----the lion, elephant and hippopotamus⑤----are very exciting and beautiful. Finally, I would like to visit the Mountains of Kenya where I can see snow on the Equator.
If someone offered me this money, I would he amazed. Unfortunately, 1 do not think this will ever happen and I doubt if I shall ever visit these countries.

I went Chong Qing in July is a city which was built near mountains.
So people call it Mountain City. In Chong Qing,I went to the Red Stone Center, to see the places which the prisoners lived in the past. It is a terrible and awful trip. There are a lot of dogs, and soldiers with guns near the prisons. And most of the prisons are good, they didn't want to tell the bad people where the other people were. They lived in very small houses. No good food to eat, no good water to had only twenty minutes to stay out side per day but they still said nothing.
I think they are the heros in that century. I will follow their spirit.
